Tip of the week…Iberica Farringdon

Some of you may remember previous post from my birthday dinner in Iberica. This time I decided to try this fab place down in Farringdon. You may have seen my visit on snapchat already however it is such a great spot that it is worthwhile to share again. We decided to go for a lunch this time and it was nice and quiet which can be a good thing in London. I feel it is busy all the time everywhere so to find a place like this and be able to actually have a conversation is a great thing.

We ordered around 3 tapas each and shared everything as you would expect and as always I loved every dish. I picked some of my favourites like padron peppers and their chorizo lollipops but tried some new things like tomato salad or mackerel. Everything was delicious and if you love tapas this is a place to go.

My friend Emma who went there for the first time loved it so much that she went for dinner few days later. Well, good places are always a good choice right?

Mozna si pamatuje na muj predchozi post o narozeninove veceri v restauraci Iberica. Strasne tohle misto miluju. Maji opravdu prijemny dekor a vynikajici tapas. Tentokrat jsem se rozhodla vyzkouset jejich restauraci ve ctvrti Farringdon.

Vydala jsem se s pritelem a prateli jedno sobotni odpoledne na obed a v restauraci byl prijemny klid. To je obcas v Londyne raritou a pro me prijemnou zmenou. Pokud se sem nekdy vydate tak doporucuji si objednat asi tri jidla na osobu a to vam bude bohate stacit. Ja jsem objednala oblibene klasiky jako padron peppers a jejich chorizo lollipops, ale na stole se objevily pro me novinky jako napriklad makrela. Chutnalo mi opravdu vsechno a moje kamaradka Emma byla tak nadsena, ze uz si v sobotu rezervovala stul na veceri s prateli. 

No dobra mista jsou zkratka dobra mista, ze?

Tip of the week … Hix Oyster & Chop House

Last weekend was all about great food and great company. I felt like a social busy bee with a diary full of meetings, lunches and dinners. However one of the evenings really stood out. My friends Helena and Lorcan picked this outstanding restaurant in Farringdon called Hix Oyster & Chop House. I must give them a big medal for picking this fabulous spot. It is a great choice for two czirish (Czech and Irish) couples like us. We both like good piece of steak.

The restaurant has got traditional deco with crispy white tablecloths that really compliment their predominantly meat menu. You can order selection of meats, chops but also delicious oysters. We all wanted to try as much as possible so we ordered lot of sharing sets and although it may sound a lot I ate steak tartare (that had really nice spicy kick to it), steak, chops, lobster and finished the evening with cherry pie with ripple ice cream.  Although I am not that much into dessert this one was super delicious. And bit of sweetness is always needed after such a meat feast. The chops were definitely the best out of everything (so perhaps our next order).

And I could not resist and had to take picture of that Eva wine. And trust me I did not pick that on purpose at all!

I would give this restaurant 4,5 stars out of 5. And everybody felt the same. So I guess that means we are all coming back.

Minuly vikend byl hodne o jidle a dobre spolecnosti. Pripadala jsem si, ze trochu nestiham se svym nabity diarem plny veceri a obedu. Ale jeden z veceru se opravdu povedl. Nasi kamaradi Helena a Lorcan vybrali tuhle vytecnou restauraci ve ctvrti Farringdom a ti kteri maji radi steaky a maso tak ji urcite oceni. Hix Oyster & Chop House ma bohate menu a najdete v nem vse mozne od steaku az po humra. 

Restaurace ma velmi tradicni decor, ale myslim, ze na tento styl restaurace se to hodi. Klasicke bile ubrusy a jednoduchy styl nemaji co pokazit a vzdy tak nejak davaji typickym steak housum ten spravny nadech. I kdyz se to bude zdat hodne …. tim ze jsme objednali ruzna jidla pro vsechny ctyri jsem mohla vyzkouset opravdu hodne z jejich nabidky…od tataraku, pres humra az po ruzne steaky. A silene mi chutnal jejich spenat. Servis byl taky vyborny a strasne jsem si to uzila, myslim, ze to byly skvele stravene tri hodiny. 

A nemohla jsem odolat a musela jsem vam vyfotit to Eva vino. A opravdu se priznavam, ze to byla uplna nahoda.

Ceru at London Riviera

Sun, cocktails, sun beds, music, water…No I am not talking about Spanish promenade. You can find this paradise in the middle of London. You may remember my review of Ceru Restaurant that serves mouth watering street inspired food and this time you can experience their delicious menu down at London Riviera next to Tower Bridge. I was invited alongside other bloggers like Muriel and my friend Margita to enjoy a lovely warm evening along the river Thames filled with music, food and cocktails.

I had a marvellous time and we even spoke to the head chef Tom Kime who introduced his latest street food cook book. I now wish I was working down at More London so I can pop out every lunch break and have their lamb shoulder every day (with a sneaky cocktail to go with it).

If you pass by this is truly fantastic experience and pleasure for your taste buds. I am sure you will find me there as well. LOL

Slunicko, koktejly, lehatka, hudba a uzasna atmosfera….nemluvim o spanelske promenade, ale o nove pop up restauraci hned vedle Towere Bridge. Mozna si pamatujete, kdyz jsem psala pred par mesici o vyborne restauraci Ceru. Ta se prave presunula na leto podel reky Temze a serviruje presne tak vynikajici jidlo, jak si pamatuju. Byla jsem pozvana vedle dalsich blogeru stravit dohromady prijemny vecer a jeste ted se mi sbihaji sliny. Na veceri jsem sla i s kamaradkou Margitou, ktera si nemohla atmosferu vynachvalit.

Prisel nas osobne pozdravit i sef kuchar Tom Kime, ktery nam jednotlive chody postupne predstavil a take nam predstavil svou novou knihu a prozradil, ze Ceru otvira take v Sydne. Takze se maji u protinozcu na co tesit. 

Jestli mate v lete cestu do Londyna a vyjde vam pocasi, urcite si sem zaskocte, protoze atmosfera i jidlo jsou zde na jednicku.

Tip of the week Luc Salsedo in Nice

Finding a good place to eat in during your holidays can be a bit of a challenge. The first night was really hit or miss and myself and my boyfriend were walking around lovely streets of Nice to find a good place. Well, it was a miss. The food was average or maybe even worse. So the second night we rather consulted our options with concierge in our hotel. And man that was such a good thing to do.

He recommended this fabulous place founded by Luc Salsedo who is a local and is a michelin star chef. The place was exactly as described. It is very small but everything is very fresh and they change the menu every ten days. The menu is not big but enough to chose from. My personal favourite was the starter which was flower zucchini coated and fried and it was accompanied by mouthwatering sauces and vegetables. However the other courses were super delicious as well and I was very pleased with their service as well.

We arrived very early (yes we are Europeans not French) and after a while the restaurant was full of other Europeans. Lol.

And now I know why. This place was just fantastic.

 If you are ever in Nice you should definitely stop by for a dinner as you will not be disappointed.

Najit dobrou restauraci na dovolene muze byt obcas pekny orisek. Prvni vecer v Nice jsme proste chodily naslepo v malebnych ulickach a po dlouhem hledani jsme proste vesly do restaurace, ktera byla v zaveru podprumerna. A tak druhy vecer po porade s recepcnim u nas v hotelu jsme se rozhodli vyzkouset restauraci Luc Salsedo.

Luc pochazi z Nice, ale pracoval dlouho v restauracich s Michelin hvezdickou a pote si otevrel tuhle malickou, ale vybornou restauraci. Menicko se meni kazdych deset dni a je upraveno podle toho, co je zrovna v sezone. Vsechny suroviny jsou cerstve a udajne nemaji ani lednicku. A opravdu jsem byla tak nadsena, ze jsem se rozhodla napsat cely post. Menu neni moc dlouhe a z kazdeho chodu mate na vyber tri jidla. Ja i pritel jsme byly nejvice nadseni z predkrmu, coz byla smazena cuketa, nebo abych to upresnila kytka z cukety. A to bylo doplnene zeleninou a vynikajici omackou. Jeste ted se mi sbihaji sliny. 

V restauraci jsme byly asi prvni nebo druzi hoste (to vite Evropane) a za chvili bylo misto zcela plne (dalsi Evropani). Haha 

Pokud se nekdy chystate do Nice, tak sem urcite zajdete, protoze nebudete urcite tak zklamani jako ja prvni vecer.
