Marrakech – Part 2

This is my next post from my press trip with Thomson holidays in Marrakech. So one afternoon we had another busy few hours ahead. We decided to go shopping to local Souk (market) and to get a real Marrakech experience. And I am telling you everything was exactly how I thought it was going to be. It is full of colours, noises, different smells and you all may have heard about the five senses of Marrakech. That is what you feel and see in the Souk. You can get some fantastic pieces for your home or real silk scarves that look like a rainbow. I was on a mission to bring some lovely items for my flat. Oh, what a fantastic place it is as you can negotiate the price (remember go at least to half to what they suggest – I wish I could do that in Chanel store in London). I wanted lanterns, silver tray and couscous bowl and I got it all with one shocking surprise when I got home. The bowl did not survive the flight and I almost cried as loved it so much. I also had my own Carrie moment when I stopped at the stall with all the sweet shoes. You may have seen it on my instagram already. I really felt like Sex and the City girl.

After shopping we stopped by at the main square. The atmosphere is incredible but be prepared to say firm NO at number of occasions. Also bare in mind that you will be asked to take pictures with monkeys, snakes and other animals but remember that nothing is for free in Marrakech. You will be expected to pay for something you may not even asked for at a first instance.

After fabulous shopping experience we were treated with a private Indian five course meal in the hotel and prior to that with drinks on the roof top terrace. Oh, life can be sweet. Imagine the lights of Marrakech, bubbles, nibbles and a great company. If I knew back then how big and delicious the dinner was going to be I would not eat a single nibble. The whole day just could not be and end up better. I am very lucky that I could experience this.

Love Glamazon xoxo
