How to Wear Red This Autumn: The Chicest Red Pieces for 2026

Tomato red, cherry red and deep red are definitely dominating the fashion trends for Autumn 2026. And as someone who is constantly told that red suits me, I’m personally very happy to see this shade stealing the show this season.

As with so many fashion trends, what we first see on the runway soon filters down into our favourite high-street stores. So whether your budget stretches to thousands or you’re looking to spend around £30, there are plenty of ways to embrace this hot autumn trend and make red work beautifully in your everyday wardrobe.

From statement red jackets and cosy knitwear to handbags, shoes and those smaller pops of colour that can completely transform a neutral outfit, red is one of the easiest autumn trends to experiment with this season.

How to wear red this Autumn?

Start small.

If your budget is low but you like the idea of adding touch of this trend to your every day life I suggest to start with nails or lips. You may as well get something small like leather gloves. I actually saw incredible pair in Zara and thought it would be such a stunning item for touch of colour. Or another option can be simply a scarf thrown over a blazer or your favourite leather jacket.

Leather accessories like shoes or bags are your next option.

I have always loved a touch of red, whether it happens to be a hot fashion trend or not. One of my favourite ways to wear it is actually incredibly simple: an all-black look paired with red shoes or a red handbag.

It’s such an easy way to introduce a brighter colour into your wardrobe, especially if wearing bold shades from head to toe feels a little intimidating. You can keep everything else classic and neutral and let that one red accessory do all the talking.

I’ve had a pair of classic Hangisi pumps for several years, and they remain my go-to red heels. They’re one of those pieces that can instantly elevate even the simplest black outfit and, for me, are a perfect example of why investing in a statement accessory can be so worthwhile.

Knitwear

I love wearing knitwear once the temperatures start to drop, and a red cardigan or jumper is such a wonderful way to bring a little colour into your autumn wardrobe.

One of my favourite ways to wear it is with leather trousers and a blazer thrown over the top. You still get that cosy, comfortable feeling that I love about autumn dressing, while the bright pop of red adds a little joy to those darker, more gloomy days.

And if you’re not quite ready for a head-to-toe statement, a red knit is an easy place to start — let it be the hero of your outfit and keep everything else simple.

The hero piece.

Perhaps you want to go all in like I did and invest in a bright red jacket. To be fair I get so many compliments when I wear my Meji bomber. It really is a striking hero piece that elevates the most simple outfits.

I love everything about it — the vibrant shade, the fabric and the cut. It’s one of those pieces that does all the work for you, turning a simple jeans-and-T-shirt combination into something that feels much more considered.

Of course, you don’t need to spend this much to embrace the trend. There are plenty of more affordable alternatives on the high street if your budget doesn’t stretch that far, and I’ve rounded up some of my favourites below.

If you do not like cropped jackets there are incredible red trench coats and coats that may suit even corporate environment.

I am honestly over the moon that this colour is having a moment so let’s bring the fun to fashion again.
