Spring makeup trends including Espresso Makeup

I am really loving how Tiktok dictates what is trendy. Yesterday I went to a hairdresser and a girl next to me asked for the popular Tiktok Butterfly haircut and today I was totally influenced trying on myself over40 version of the Espresso Makeup.

Now that makeup style is all over my FYP and to be honest I do love that look. I just need to keep trying until I master it and until I find the perfect products. Another huge trend is the juicy cherry cola lips. However, I still enjoy exploring new spring collections. I have recently visited the SUQQU counter at Selfridges and explored the collections. I am forever in love with their ombre blushes and the spring shades are just what we need to put on our cheeks.

NATURAL LOOKS FOR SPRING

However, the natural looks are big for this spring. Even the Espresso makeup is natural just more striking with more sexy eyes and smudged liner and big layer of ideally brown mascara. Obviously the Trish McEvoy look is uber natural but we are still using natural tones which I know will make lot of women happy. So think less blush, good skin base, peachy and rose tones even on eyes and looking fresh and youthful.

Roseinc is also is promoting “naked” makeup look with really glossy finish on eyes, cheeks and lips. The finish is just very natural that is giving healthy and youthful vibe.

WHAT TO INVEST IN?

You cannot go wrong with a good CC cream or perhaps the Roseinc Tinted serum for the natural finish. If you use Trish McEvoy Instant Eyelift you will create perfectly looking natural base. Some new spring blush is a must as well as a product that will bring some glow to your face. If you are more the Espresso makeup kind of girl go for deep brown tones, good highlight, brown mascara and Kajal Pencil Eyeliner. Victoria Beckham has a wonderful range that will be just perfect for this trend.

Spring jackets – what to wear this spring

Everybody seems to be excited about spring and despite all of this the weather has not been so good to us. I walk pass flowering trees in my winter coat in gloomy London and in my mind I am wearing my best spring outfit and grabbing takeaway coffee.

Well even if the weather is not giving us what we want we can still think about spring looks and what to wear. I don’t how about you but spring is one of the seasons when I love to refresh my wardrobe as London can be strange. You sometimes end up wearing your spring jacket in the summer so for us Londoners it is clever to splurge little bit on these pieces.

So what to wear this spring?

Oversized blazers and wool blazers

Oversized blazers are not going anywhere. Think YSL or Isabel Marant and million other desingers and brands that incorporated this trend to their collection. One brand I love that does this so well is Marcela London. Frankie shop is another winner and to be honest if you look at their outerwear you will see pretty much all the spring jackets I am talking about in this article. And let’s face it a good wool blazer is an investment for life.

Trench coats – Play with fabrics

This classic will hopefully never come out of fashion. A classic trench should be part of your capsule wardrobe however brands are bringing exciting cuts, fabrics and shapes. I love what the aboved mentioned Frankie shop is doing and so many fabulous brands. If you give me oversized leather or faux leather trench I will be a happy lady.

Bomber jackets

I love a good bomber jacket. I am dreaming of a YSL one but adore brands like Allsaints, Anine Bing, Frankie shop, Sezane amongst the more affordable. Of course high-street players like Zara or H&M are not behind. As a matter of fact I ordered this H&M one that is exclusive online and it looks like a dream. It also comes in black and looks so much more expensive than it is. And to be honest even both my kids have a bomber jacket so spring we are ready for you.

Cropped jackets – Play with fabrics

I love cropped jackets at the moment and you can see here why. It looks so cool and chic and just perfect for those spring days when it is not overly cold. Oh yes sometimes girl has to stay warm right? I say play with fabrics as leather is not the only option. I love tweed models, teddy fabrics, wool and more. These jackets can be fun but yes leather is a great investment long term.

Influencers outfits round up – Fashion inspo of the week

I adore doing Influencers outfits round up for you. Scrolling down for outfits inspiration is one of my favourite ways how to procrastinate. I could spend hours doing it and keep saving these in my folder. And I openly admit that the one that are not work outfits excite me the most. It is the daily look looks that I find the most fun but that is nothing new if I know me well.

As it is still very cold I wanted to include the very warm outfits as well as few spring options. As you can see we are still surrounded by patent heels, faux fur as the mob wife aesthetic is going strong and also the uniform pair of sneakers adidas Samba. I am still not convinced they are very me however the social media pressure is sometimes hard to resist.

I personally love the look my friend Lorna is wearing as the combination of the brown trousers, patent heels and the chocolate coat looks very chic. However chic is her second name. Her style is very timeless and she is the best at spotting quiet luxury items and always looks very expensive.

Leopard print has always been one of my favourites and so glad it is having a moment again. However, the real leopard print lovers will never stop wearing it. Many years ago I bought a pair of Leopard booties by Pucci in New York and I think I will keep them forever. I really do love the leopard print trousers with the faux fur jacket and pop of red. The mixture of textures is just incredible in this case.

3 Skincare Tips I wish I knew sooner

Thanks to social media ageing is even bigger topic than ever and with that comes skincare and all the ways how to make our skin look it’s best at any age. Tiktok is full of useful videos, educational videos about all different ways including invasive treatments however I wish I knew these three things sooner. And when I say sooner I mean 20 years ago. I know things would be even better now when I am in my 40s.

Double cleansing

I really find huge difference if I double cleanse. And that is something I was not doing consistently since my 20’s. To be honest I was not one of those girls who did not take makeup off after a night out as my skin was so severely affected by acne. I simply could not do that. However double cleansing is so powerful and really makes a huge difference for your skin. One of my favourite cleansers is this one from Dermalogica. And I love to use as the other step La Mer Micelar water. I know sometimes after a long day you want to keep things simple but each time I consistently push myself I find my skin is just better.

Led Therapy

LED therapy is huge these days and I wish it was so common as it is now when I was younger. The changes it can make to your skin whether it is healing and it really treats different issues. And now with so many LED home masks we do not have to go to salons anymore. I use my Currentbody so often and I also have discount code for you EVA15 in case you want to try for yourself. This applies on all Currentbody products.

SPF

I grew up surrounded by people who believe that the most important thing is to come extremely tanned after going abroad on holiday. Young girls at the time not only refused to use any SPF they even used home remedies to look even darker or used oil accelerators. I really wish the fashion back then was more like today. SPF is so important and sadly the damage cannot be reversed. I have seen my skin on the computer after they analyzed it several times and could not believe my eyes. And I have not been really tanning since my 20s. I am that person that comes pale from the holiday. Do not get me wrong I think tan is attractive and I am often admiring other people’s tan but nothing beats beautiful skin when you get older. So I wish I was using factor 50 at least on my face since day 1. I know things would be different now.
