5 Ways how to get over January Blues

January can be one of the most depressing month. I remember those times when I had to return to the office after Christmas and everybody around was miserable. You just keep bumping into grumpy people in the streets and everybody on the morning train has a sour face on. People used to talk about how much they have to save in January as they splurged on Christmas fun. Nobody was really going out, drinking or doing anything interesting. Well, let’s face it the holiday eating habits are really out of order so it is probably natural that people want to have fresh start and detox a bit. And they also have to watch their spending.

And all of this in a combination with cold weather can result in a very dull month. It is a very long month, holiday fun is over and spring is still far away. I really get all of this however it does  not have to be like that even if your budget is small. So I thought we all need a bit of motivation and few tips how to survive January blues.

Dress Well

There has been a lot of research done how clothes and what you wear is connected to your confidence and your emotions. Just imagine yourself even now wearing a well fitted suit or pyjamas and doing a pitch to somebody. Two different outfits can change everything but mainly your confidence and how you feel. It is ok to wear comfortable clothes but if you slip too often and just say you stay in pyjamas because you feel rubbish it is not leading anywhere. So each time you want to grab that oversized jumper and leggings maybe think twice and pick that glamorous blouse instead.

Look after your body 

If you look after your body it will thank you sooner or later. The first thing most of us tend to do when we do not feel great is to grab a bar of chocolate or another type of comfort food. However, if you eat nutritious food and keep up with the balanced diet you can even manage your moods. And if you add bit of exercise that is even better. And looking after yourself also means to get good night sleep and meditate. Everything works well in moderation so even if you are motivated to lose few pounds do not overdo it.

Do things you love

I know it is January but there has to be at least one thing you can do even on a small budget. You can go for a long walk with a friend and make a cup of coffee at home, you can watch great TV series, finally get that book you wanted to read, go swimming, meet other people or treat yourself to a manicure. I have always loved the idea of having my girlfriends over and do a beauty night in with some pop corn, Neflix and face masks. It is a great way how to keep some social life going even if you overspend during December.

Make plans

January is a great month to plan the whole year, set goals, book holidays and write down your dreams that with a bit of work and luck and planning can come true. Imagine if you actually do book your holidays during this super long winter month. That must cheer up even the most miserable person. Or at least I hope so.

Organise your home/Change decor

If you like to feel productive you can always work on your interior at home. How about to update decor in the living room or bedroom. Your surroundings should make you feel good when you spend lot of time there especially during winter months. There are still lot of sales around so if you grab a different paint or a nice throw with cushions that are on sale you can easily bring a bit of glamour to your house too.

So let’s try this and make sure we feel great even in January. No point to cry, moan and feel bad just because it is winter month and not much is going on. It is about what we do and how we make it.

Kazdy musel setrit, protoze utratil vse na Vanoce a Novorocnich oslavach. A kazdy se rozhodl hubnout, zahajit detox a cvicit. A tak nikdo nechtel nic podnikat, nic delat a vubec nalada byla kazdy rok pod psa. Ranni cesta metrem byla prehlidka kyselych obliceju a prichod do prace nebyval o moc lepsi. 

A tohle vse spolu s pocasim ma za to, ze Leden byva povazovany za takovy ponury a nudny mesic. Ale ono to tak nemusi byt a to i presto, ze chcete opravdu setrit. A tak jsem se rozhodla sepsat par tipu jak s touto mrzutou naladou zatocit. 

Hezky se oblecte

Ne nadarmo se rika, ze obleceni dela cloveka. Cetla jsem uz nekolik clanku, ktere tvrdi, ze pruzkumy dokazuji, ze spravne zvolene obleceni muze zvysit vykonost cloveka a take jeho sebevedomi. A neco na tom bude, protoze si treba predstavte, ze delate pohovor po telefonu a jeden v obleku a druhy v pyzamu. Ja si teda myslim, ze ten v obleku by asi dopadl lepe. Neni samozrejme nic spatneho na tom si dat pohodlne obleceni a leden provalet na gauci u televize, ale pokud chcete opravdu zatocit s depresemi, mozna zacnete tim, ze se hezky oblecete a treba nalicite.

Starejte se o sve telo a mysl

Vetsina z nas sahne po necem sladkem prave v tom momentu, kdy nam neni hej. To asi neni to nejlepsi reseni ( i kdyz to sama nechci slyset), protoze je to prave vyvazena strava, ktera nas dokaze ovlivnit a ma za to, ze se citime lepe. A kdyz si k tomu jeste alespon trosku zacvicite, budete meditovat, vase telo vam urcite podekuje. Mezi starani se o sebe take patri kvalitni spanek a proto to nemusite prehanet a nutit se do neceho extremniho. Jak se rika vseho s mirou.

Delejte veci, co mate radi

Existuje tolik veci, ktere muze clovek podniknout a nebude ho to stat majlant. Co treba prochazka s kamaradkou a misto kavy nekde v kavarne si ji muzete udelat doma? Muzete si udelat zkraslovaci den v pohodli domova, sledovat oblibene filmy ci serialy, konecne si precist nejakou skvelou knizku  a nebo usporadat takovy vecer s kamaradkama, kdy si udelate pletove masky, nalakujete si nehty a pustite si prijemnou hudbu. A pokud nechcete opravdu v lednu pit, muzete vino nahradit vyzivnou smoothie a udelat si treba takovy wellness zkraslovaci vecer.

Planujte

Zacatek noveho roku je nejlepsi doba na to si planovat, stanovit si cile a nebo treba zrovna objednat dovolenou. Je to cerstvy start pro vsechny z nas a takova pomyslna doba na to si planovat sve sny na dalsi rok. A kdyz treba ulovite ve sleve dobrou dovolenou, tak to snad potesi i toho nejvetsiho mrzouta. Ma se totiz pak na co tesit. A depresivni mesic leden pak s vama nemuze zamavat.

Zorganizujte si domov a venujte se interieru

Mit pekny a pohodlny domov je take klicem ke spokojenosti. Ja osobne miluju odpoledne po velkem uklidu, protoze se ve svem dome citim zkratka lepe. Co tak vyuzit zimnich slev a treba si vase bydleni trosku zutulnit. A nemusite se poustet do velkych projektu. Staci treba vybrat novou barvu, koupit pekny prehoz a polstare nebo preorganizovat nabytek. Ja take miluju udelat ocistu ve skrini a ve vecech vubec.

Takze hlavu vzhuru a preju vam co nejprijemnejsi mesic. Je to asi vse o tom jak si to zaridime a nastavime.

House Decor: Desenio Art Touches in our New House

The time has finally come and after very stressful process of sale and purchase of the property we have moved. It took months to get here and who has ever been buying a property in UK must understand how difficult it can be especially when you are in a chain.

I am so proud we did it and although the move was tough and we did not know until the last minute if we are moving or not we officially got the keys 5th December. I am so pleased as now more fun times are coming. I want to slowly improve the place and make it lovely, cosy and create a lovely home for us.

I had my eye on some Desenio prints for a while however did not have room to play around with their amazing art in our old place. It felt so good to finally be able to pick my favourites when we moved as I know these posters will give me lot of variety and I can move them around the house according my needs. One of my absolute favourites is Dancer One print which I got in the largest size and I absolutely love it. I also got Pink Sky Poster and November Rain 02 in the second largest size. A je to tady po nekolika mesicich dlouheho procesu prodeje bytu a nakupu noveho domu jsme konecne u konce a prestehovali jsme se. Cely proces zacal nekdy v Srpnu a ti, kteri nekdy kupovali nemovitost v Britanii asi chapou nejlepe jak narocne to tady je.

Ale ted uz jsme konecne v novem a i kdyz veci nejsou zdaleka podle predstav, ceka me ta zabavnejsi cast a to vybavovani, vylepsovani a vse okolo designu. Uz nejakou dobu jsem premyslela o plakatech Desenio, ale v mem predchozim byte na ne zkratka uz nebylo misto. A tak jsem si hned prvni tyden po prestehovani s radosti objednala nekolik kusu. Idealne bych je chtela premistovat podle potreby a to se mi na jejich plakatech libi. Velmi casto napriklad potrebuju menit zatisi na toceni videa apod. Nejvice se mi zamlouva fakt, ze jsou cenove dostupne a behem momentu zmeni celou mistnost, at uz je pouzijete v obyvacim pokoji, kancelari ci koupelne. 

Jeden z mych nejoblibenejsich plakatu je kazdopadne tento s nazvem Dancer One a i proto jsem si ho poridila v nejvetsi mozne velikosti.  A plakaty November Rain 02 a Pink Sky Poster jsem si poridila v druhe nejvetsi velikosti. Chtela jsem si vybrat takove, ktere budou vypadat dobre zvlast i dohromady. A nemohla jsem odolat jejich bestselleru Pink Paris Perfume, ktery bude urcite vypadat v kancelari ci koupelne.

New furniture additions featuring Cult Furniture

It has been few weeks since I moved in to our new house and I love it. I am constantly working on improving it and making it look homely. We have had quite a bit of furniture from our previous apartment but this place is much bigger and needs some new additions.

I was looking for those items that can add luxury touches to my new home but can be versatile and I can move them around if needed. I wanted pieces that can be used in the living room as well as the bedrooms or I could use them for filming background for my videos. I knew I wanted to buy a lovely floor lamp as that was one item that we could not fit in to our old apartment. Although it was big enough we just had too many things already and it would not fit anywhere. I chose this Mala Harpin Tripod Floor Lamp from Cult Furniture. I feel its modern yet chic design will fit our existing furniture and I can use it in any of the rooms. At the moment it is that great feature item for our living room and I love how it looks there. I picked neutral tones as that is simply safe option for my taste and my current decor.

I was also after a chair or armchair that would feel more classic and I could use it again in any of the rooms. If we had more guests and our sofas would not be enough this could be used or I can simply use it in one of the bedrooms for more decoration purposes. It can also be that item that makes your empty corner more homely and you can enjoy cup of tea and favourite book in it. I was deciding in between two models but in the end opted for Keaton Armchair in grey. I love the fact it is velvet fabric which I feel is very trendy in home decor at the moment but the fact the armchair has got wheels was a great feature for us. It enables me to move it around and suit our needs. So this item is simply a winner and it already fits our home in the best possible way.

I am so delighted with both items from Cult Furniture and cannot wait to keep improving our new home even more.

Uz je to par tydnu co jsme se prestehovali do noveho domu a mam opravdu velkou radost. Pomalu upravujeme co je treba a snazime se vytvorit prijemny domov pro nas vsechny. Z predchoziho bytu jsme meli docela dost nabytku, ale tim, ze dum je vetsi, je treba par novych veci a to bude asi postupny proces.

Chtela jsem si poridit par veci, ktere budou fungovat ve vsech mistnostech a budu je treba moci pouzit k toceni na youtube. Velmi casto vyhledavam veci, ktere budou vypadat dobre ve vsech nasich mistnostech, protoze me zkratka bavi veci menit podle potreby ci chuti. Jednou z veci kterou jsem vzdy chtela, ale v nasem predchozim byte na ni nebylo misto, byla velka lampa. Jelikoz mam rada spise neutralnejsi veci ( i kdyz to se take casem muze zmenit) vybrala jsem si tuhle krasnou Mala Hairpin lampu. Prijde mi velmi sik a zaroven moderni a velmi se nam hodi do obyvaciho pokoje. 

Dale jsem si prala novou zidli nebo kreslo, ktere by se hodilo kamkoli, at jej muzu pouzivat dle potreby. Pokud napriklad prijde navsteva a nebudou stacit nase pohovky je dobre mit alternativni sezeni. Zaroven jsem chtela, aby kreslo mohlo byt pouzito treba k toceni a mohla ho pouzivat dle svych potreb. Rozhodovala jsem mezi dve modely, ale nakonec vyhralo tohle kreslo Keaton v sede barve. Libi se mi, ze je ze sametu, coz je momentalne v oblasti dekoru velky hit. Navic ma tohle kreslo kolecka, coz mi usnadnuje premistovani z mista na misto a to je presne co jsem si prala. 

Jsem rada, ze jsem tyhle kousky do domu poridila a tesim se na dalsi vylepsovani.

5 Steps I have been doing to lose weight

I learnt over the years how to love my body. I went from somebody that controlled every calorie and worked out constantly until reaching burning out syndrome to  somebody that is all about balance and small steps.

However with age things are not going as easy as it was before and especially after I had a child. Certain parts are less toned than others so I decided to push a little bit harder before summer. And of course it is natural to fail here and there however as I said balance is a key. I have been focusing on 5 simple steps that are helping me to get that bikini body.

  1. Hot water with Lemon – This is an old trick that always makes a difference. I have always been doing it however in the last few weeks I have increased the amount and I also drink few cups a day. It helps to detoxify your body and speeds up metabolism. Very cheap and simple step how to get flatter tummy.
  2. Weight and Fitness Vitamins – I used to be a huge fan of food supplements and then I had a long break until now. This is the easiest thing you can do for yourself is to get some good food supplement that will intensify your workouts and diet. I have been using Fat and Carb blocker from Super Smart. I also go running with a buggy or take long walks and added weekly challenges e.g. squat challenge, pelvic workouts etc. It is about doing that extra to push yourself a bit more.
  5. Get enough sleep, do not think about losing weight too much and eat clean – Another quite tricky thing if you have a child is to get enough sleep. I used to use Liam’s naps purely for work and now in the last few weeks I have been trying to nap with him a bit more. He is an early riser and I am talking 5 am sometimes even earlier so if I want to make sure I sleep the naps are required. And remember do not feel guilty if you slip or have a big dinner here and there, bit of ice cream or lot of wine. The guilt is the worse and it is key that you feel good about yourself. The cleaner you eat the better. Just try to cut processed food and eat fresh. You will achieve results much faster than just counting calories and they will also be more permanent.

Po letech muzu rict, ze jsem zacala mit rada svoje telo. To je pro nekoho, kdo mel posedlost vahou a hubnutim opravdu velky zlom. To vite, ze to obcas resim, ale kdo me zna pred par lety pochopi. Nemluvila jsem o nicem jinem a cvicila jako silena. Byla jsem takova dietova kralovna, ktera stejne koncila tak, ze nebyla az tak hubena a mrzuta z hladu. LOL 

Kazdopadne ted uz vim, ze je vse o balancu a ze nic se nema prehanet. Je dulezite byt spokojeny a stastny. Ted po diteti jsem se pred dovolenou rozhodla trosku zabrat, i kdyz se mi uprimne moc nechce. Radsi bych si sedla kazdy vecer ke sklence vina a dala si hamburger LOL. Ale techto par kroku a zmen me nezabije a jsou vlastne uplne jednoduche. Jak rikam, balanc je dulezity. 

  1. Tepla voda s citronem – Tento stary trik zminuju snad v kazdem videu. Teplou vodu s citronem piju rano na lacno. Je to super vec a pomaha se zbavit spatneho v tele a nastartuje metabolismus. Ted pred dovolenou jsem se rozhodla zvysit davky a davam si dalsi alespon jeden salek behem dne. Je to skvely zpusob jak se take zbavit tuku na brise. Coz je po diteti moje kriticka partie.
  2. Potravinove doplnky podporujici hubnuti – Drive jsem uzivala potravinove doplnky ve velkem. Pak jsem prestala a rikala jsem si, ze si telo necham radit samo a spolu s vyvazenou stravou to pujde. Ale ted kdyz jsem se rozhodla zabrat a zacala pouzivat tyto produkty ze Super Smart Vitamins a jsou oba skvele. Pouzivam Fat and Carb Blocker, ktery zabranuje vstrebavani tuku. A takhle kdyz chcete urgentne zhubnout je to opravdu neco, co vam pomuze rychleji dosahnout vysledku. A dalsi vyborna vec je Appetite Control Vitamin, ktery snizuje chute a to hlavne vecer. Ale ted jsem zabrala jeste vic a pridavam si ruzne tzv “weekly challenges” napriklad 100 leh sedu denne apod. Jak rikam je treba trosku pridat, pokud chcete videt vysledky za par tydnu. 
  5. Spanek, nevycitat si nic a jist “ciste” – Spanek je dulezity a to i kdyz chcete hubnout. Liam se budi hodne brzo a driv jsem pokazde kdyz sel spat pres den pracovala, ted se snazim si jit lehnout s nim a je to super. Citim se lip. Dulezite je take nevycitat si kazde sousto a kdyz ujedete nechat to jit. Ja treba mela ted sileny vikend – vecere, vino, dorty LOL ale co, dalsi den muzu zacit zase spravne. A snazte se jist cerstve potraviny, co nejmene zpracovanych produktu. To zabira nejvice a hlavne si vahu udrzite.
